Jay Z with Blue Ivy
Jay Z has really come a long way.
Even though he’s been a father for a few years now, the images coming out on social media and through the tabloids are starting to show him more and more on daddy duty — and also how much he enjoys the role.
Remember, this is the same guy who continued on the legacy of mafioso rap with Reasonable Doubt and became one of hip-hop’s most storied drug dealer rappers. It’s a past Fox News still loves to point out (as if it has any effect on anything). But from all appearances, it seems Hov’s moved to that introspective time in life as an emcee, when you realize your career is more than just about you.
Take Halloween this year for example. Jay participated in dressing up in numerous costumes on multiple days. But this figurative line in the sand has Twitter torn, and we’re not sure why. You’d think mega success would be a good enough excuse to part from your past ways or even your prior music, right?
Well, some can’t fathom that. Luckily, reasonable Twitter made itself available for a few takes we’re all here for.
“People clowning Jay Z for dressing as a doll for Halloween aren’t use to seeing men being fathers and doing whatever to see their kid smile,” one user wrote. “Men’s reaction to Jay-Z’s transformation to a husband and father are actually kinda terrifying,” another tweeted. “It’s like they’ve never seen anyone grow up.”
What do you think? Should Jay Z cease being a dad in the public light or is it time to embrace the daddy life full throttle?

The 6th RTP Award is set to thrill everyone and put smiles on the faces of even unsuccessful award expectants and their fans.
Yes, that is what to look out for when you have the best dancehall artiste in Africa, the best Gospel Artiste in Ghana, the hottest highlife/hiplife artiste in Ghana and the best comedian in Ghana share the same stage, on the same day at the same event.
This is what the 2016 Radio and Television Awards look set to offer: Shata Wale, DSP Kofi Sarpong, Kofi Kinaata, DKB, Kwadei, Lexis the Comic and DKB.
Despite the highlight of the program being the awards proper, there’s every chance that the memory that will live on for a long time will be the diversity of the entertainment and the profile of entertainers.
Speaking to Prince Mackey, CEO of the Event, he assured Ghanaians that this year’s Awards event will be the best entertainment program of the year and keep establishing itself as the most transparent and uncontroversial award scheme in Africa.
The Radio and Television Personality Award is not only known for setting the pace in Ghana but also their model being copied by other countries like Liberia and Nigeria.
Largely marginalised and rarely recognised in the past, the RTP Awards has over the past 6 years placed presenters doing a good job in the limelight and given them their deserving recognition.
Aside rewarding hard working presenters, the Award has shaped Radio and Television presentation in the country. Now, presenter strive to be more professional in order to be recognised by the biggest and most credible Award even in West Africa as far as the sector is concerned.
Interestingly, what has got most people excited in this year’s event is not just the presenters going to be recognised but the calibre of entertainers billed to entertain the obviously entertainment loving patrons
Shata Wale will bring the house down; Okomfour Kwadei will make patrons reminisce the good old days. DSP Kofi Sarpong will make you want to behave yourself. He comes as a policeman policing you to Christ with beautiful and soothing Gospel songs.
As if that is not enough, you will have DKB and co who will go to every length to ensure that you crack your rib and forget your problems This is the RTP of all RTPs. You don’t want to miss it for anything. See you at the Accra International Conference Centre this Saturday at 7pm.

Organisers of the 2016 Ghana Music Week Festival (GMW-UK) in the UK have postponed the event to December 30.
The event was scheduled to take place at Indigo at the O2 Arena on October 21, but organisers, in a press statement said, they have postponed the event due to “some unavoidable circumstances.”
“The postponement has become very necessary to enable the organisers fix a technical element, responsible for delivering an unprecedented event experience per GMW-UK concept,” the statement, copied to Myjoyonline.com said.
Freddie Annang, Chairman of the GMW-UK Planning Committee noted in the statement that “also, the postponement would give us, even more, time to market the event adequately for the right impact, considering that GMW-UK primarily aims as marketing and driving the right traffic to the main festival in Ghana next [year] March.”
According to the organisers, BET Awards winner, Stonebwoy remains the headline artiste for the event. He will be supported by 2016 Ghana Music Awards Artiste of the Year, E.L.
Organisers, Fantasy Entertainment and Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA), however, noted that three artistes would be announced in the coming weeks to replace Highlife great, Amakye Dede who was originally billed to perform at the October 21 event.
